Overview

We are hiring a full time Dental Assistant-Oral Surgery Assistant for our affiliated office; Dental Specialty Center of Ft. Myers located in Ft. Myers, FL. We prefer a candidate that is EFDA certified and X-Ray Certified in the state of Florida. We are looking for candidates that have 1-2 years' experience working in a dental office. Must be a team player with a can do attitude.

Responsibilities
Assist in surgical operations under the supervision of the dentist. Prepare operatory by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes and sterile solutions as required. Assemble sterile and non-sterile equipment; adjust and check to ensure proper working order. Prepare patients for surgery and observe patients vital signs and assist dentist during surgery.

During surgery pass instruments and other sterile supplies to dentist, hold surgical instruments as directed by dentist, and help apply dressings. Operate sterilizer, lights, or suction machines. Clean operatory after surgery.

Qualifications
  • X-ray license for the state in which you work
  • Experience working as a Surgical Dental Assistant is required
  • Completion of accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent work experience. Certification preferred.
