Overview
We are looking for an Insurance Billing Coordinator for our affiliated practice, College Park Dental, located in College Park, Maryland 20740. This is a part-time position. Candidate must have dental, medical or other health-care insurance experience; and an understanding on how to read Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).

Responsibilities
The Insurance Billing Coordinator is responsible for directing the overall functions of the dental billing procedures, to assure maximum financial benefit while maintaining strong patient, provider, and other external relationships. This position requires strong leadership and business skills. Successful candidates will have a thorough understanding of dental/medical billing and revenue cycle. The position will require hands-on billing.

Objectives & Goals:

The Insurance Billing Coordinator will strive to ensure insurance claims are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the operation of the billing processes, encompassing dental/medical coding, charge entry, and claim submission.

  • Analyze trends, impacting charges, coding, and collections and take appropriate action to realign processes and revise policies.

  • Identify insurance, managed care, or corporate programs in which we could participate and execute necessary steps for participation.

  • Analyze billing and claims for accuracy and completeness and submit claims to proper insurance entities and follow up on any issues.

  • Plan and direct patient insurance documentation, workload coding, billing and collections to ensure accurate billing.

  • Coordinate training and problem resolution.

  • Provide, oversee, and/or coordinate the provision for training for new and existing support or billing staff.

  • Follows up with third-party insurance carriers on unpaid claims till claims are paid or only self-pay balance remains.

  • Processes rejections by either making accounts private pay and generating a letter of rejection to patients or correcting any billing error and resubmitting claims to third-party insurance carriers.

  • Keeps updated on all billing and benefit changes for third-party insurance carriers.

  • Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.



Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:


  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

  • 1-3 years dental/medical/insurance billing experience required.

  • Knowledge of dental/medical/insurance billing practices and business office procedures.

  • Have the capacity to relate to people in a manner to win confidence and establish rapport.

  • Strong critical and strategic thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills and time-management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, people management skills, and ability to interact well with people across multiple levels of a business.

  • Demonstrated success identifying and leading process improvement initiatives.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Must be proficient in MS Office and have good computer skills.
